iexplorer

Hi All,

I hope you can help, we have had a few instances where we have had iexplore program open in the background and the v worked is unable to close or access it therefore it is effecting our automation as it cannot open a new instance with it seeing one already open.

Our IT team seems to think it must be being open by a user with higher access rights than the v worker but this is not the case as no one accesses the machine.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Hi Rwattis,

What is a v worker?
Are you able to see that program's corresponding process (perhaps iexplore) in the Task Manager and kill it from there?
If you are able to then you can do the same from Blue Prism at the beginning of your process diagram.

Hi,

V worker is just virtual worker and in answer to your question yes it can bee seen in the task manager as there is always 2 instances of it.

The issue is you need admin privileges to shut them down which the automation does not have.

Hi @Rwattis

When you launch iexplore, you will see 2 instances of it. In order to interact with the correct tab you have to provide a Child Index value as an input in your Navigate stage.

Usually this is 0 or 1 for the first tab.

Hi,

This is in the background and not opened by the Automation. The Automation has no ability to access these instances.

Best Regards,

Richard
