Much like a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) robot, technology trends never sleep. For business and IT leaders, keeping up with the latest and greatest can feel like building the track in front of a bullet train. However, when we take a step back and consider the true end goal, we can see those trends as the logical next step to a technology already in use. This is certainly the case with RPA and the trend of hyperautomation.
Automation vs. hyperautomation
According to Gartner, “Hyperautomation refers to an approach in which organizations rapidly identify and automate as many business processes as possible. It involves the use of a combination of technology tools, including but not limited to machine learning, packaged software and automation tools to deliver work.” (Predicts 2020: RPA Renaissance Driven by Morphing Offerings and Zeal for Operational Excellence)
