Extracting information from .txt to Excel and modify the workbook/sheet

Dear RPA-community,

I want to extract Information from a .txt-file and then I would like to modify the Information in an Excel sheet.
I tried to convert the file to csv, but it destroyed my formatting.

Furthermore, I want to implement a new column with random numbers.

I tried to use action "select" and "insert", but I do not understand how I can add the random number into the cells.

Please acknowledge that I am really new to Blue Prism and just started to understand the Basic principles.

First, I haven’t worked with opening .txt files with BP. But I would try opening the file with the MS word VBO. If that’s not working, build a object for notepad and select all the text when it’s open.

Then I would modify everything in BP working with collections etc.
About randomization, I’m not really sure why you need it. But that you need to build your own object I think because I haven’t found any object for this in BP

Then write the collection to the excel file.

I solved the issure concerning the random number, but did not understand what you meant with the Notepad. What is this Notepad?
